₹214.69 of tax you have already paid is not safe to claim back yet.
Razorpay takes a fee out of every settlement it pays you, and charges tax on that fee. You are allowed to claim that tax back. You get it back only for the part Razorpay has reported to the tax department, on the monthly statement it files against your name, the GSTR-2B.
Trace checked all 54 settlement records for July 2026 against that statement. 38 of them line up. 16 do not, and those are the ones below.

For the July 2026 review, one record needs your view before we finalise the return. Record pay_0g2MGvCSGoyeQW (order order_oQ88kygcqgYW6a) settled on 02 Aug 2026 under settlement setl_6qoCamAi8YAmiY for ₹22,000.00. Razorpay deducted a fee of ₹519.20 inclusive of GST, which is ₹440.00 of fee net of tax and ₹79.20 of GST. This matches the expected fee of ₹519.20 exactly, so there is no excess: fee excess ₹0.00 and tax excess ₹0.00. The only issue is timing. Razorpay has billed this on invoice RZP/TAX/2026-07/0041882 against the August 2026 GSTR-2B, so the ₹79.20 of credit is not in the July 2026 auto-populated figure at all. Please hold it out of the July return and pick it up when the August 2B is available. No reversal is needed, and please do not reverse it, since the credit is merely late rather than ineligible. Please confirm you are happy with that treatment and with the book entry recording the fee in the period of deduction.
Flag on GSTR-3B
This is a timing difference: Razorpay has billed the fee on the August 2026 GSTR-2B, so the ₹79.20 of GST is not in the July 2026 auto-populated credit. Nothing is due on Table 4 this period and no reversal should be made.
Tally correction entry
Razorpay fee on settlement setl_6qoCamAi8YAmiY, record pay_0g2MGvCSGoyeQW. Fee ₹519.20 inclusive, net ₹440.00 and GST ₹79.20. Credit falls on the August 2026 2B, so the tax is held in a suspense ledger for now.
Ask a question
Ask anything about this month's settlements and get the answer in plain English. Every answer names the records it is built from, and each of those is a link to that row in the table above.
Short answer: 16 of 54 records were flagged, and the shortfall is mostly fees deducted that Razorpay's invoice does not account for, plus refunds netted off and fees that belong to next month.
- 1Fees with nothing on the invoice behind them: 4 records, fees ₹1,407.39 carrying ₹214.69 of GST, which is the amount at risk , , , .
- 2Refunds netted off the settlement: 4 records, fees ₹828.36 , , , .
- 3Correct fees falling on August's statement: 5 records, fees ₹1,280.30 , , , , .
- 4Three where only the successful capture was billable, no fee .
Credit claimable ₹982.23; at risk ₹214.69.

How Trace works
What the problem actually is, and the four steps Trace takes to answer it.
Razorpay charges a fee on every settlement and adds 18% GST on top of it. A merchant is allowed to take that GST off their own tax bill rather than absorb it, which is what input tax credit means. The catch is that you only get it for the part your supplier told the tax department about. Every month the portal builds a statement of exactly that, called GSTR-2B, and it is the only evidence the department accepts.
So the question is narrow, and it is worth money: of the GST Razorpay charged you this month, how much did Razorpay actually report? Trace answers it one settlement at a time and shows you everything that does not line up.
- 1Detect
Checks every settlement fee against Razorpay's published price list, then checks the month's total against Razorpay's invoice on the GSTR-2B. Arithmetic only. No model is asked anything.
- 2Investigate
Reads whatever did not match and puts each one into one of five categories, showing the evidence it used.
- 3Explain
Answers questions about this month in plain English. Every answer names the records it rests on, and each one opens its row.
- 4Act
Drafts the CA email, the GSTR-3B flag and the Tally entry. It drafts only. A person confirms each one, and nothing is ever sent or filed.
